A journalist and television anchor with an interest in community activism, Zhang Wu is a street photographer with firsthand experience both behind the camera and in the midst of the story. Having grown up entirely in the urban environments of Fuzhou, capitol of Fujian Province and New York City, his urge to explore rural America led him on a rambling cross-country road trip with photographer Huang Jue, from New York to San Francisco, in March 2010. With a keen sense of place, people, and the stories behind them, Zhang’s work evokes the nuances of every-day humanity and the landscapes that shape it. He collects his work on a blog, tenth.blogbus.com.
