Artist Statement

The plan was to just paint and withhold exegesis for future. Found these 2 by 2 foot already cut plywood at Home Depot. There is a lineage of square images from the Mandala to Ad Reinhard. The number 100 was arbitrarily chosen but it also feels complete. These paintings are after S.B. in spirit not necessarily in content.

"Beauty is the promise of happiness" - Stendhal

"Art is the ever broken promise of happiness" - Adorno
