David Wang graduated from RISD as well with a BFA in Painting. He studied abroad in Rome as a scholar of the European Honors Program. His time in Italy strongly informs the sculptural nature of his work. His work is also inspired by his life within the graffiti subculture.
My work venerates and uncovers moments in life that are rare yet deeply moving. As much as it can mean, I am listening to the divine and using art to communicate and recall those intangible distinctions of feeling. My paintings are reminders that I have had feelings and experiences unlike each other - more than just emotion, but a coalescence of meanings and frequencies brought on by chance encounters. I believe that the spirit of adventure is still possible.
