Qian Wu was born in Xiamen City, Fujian Province, China. His interest in art began early in life and start learning to paint since the age of six. He graduated from the Department of Social and Cultural Analysis at New York University, and the Weatherhead East Asian Institute at Columbia University. From 2012 to 2015, he also studied at the Art Students League of New York. He currently lives and works in New York City.
